Educational Opportunities abound at the Summit Learning Center!

The Summit Learning Center is currently closed until June 2016.

Enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and cocoa while learning about the natural and human history at the summit of  Mount Constitution. Discover the importance of preserving and protecting the natural, ecological, historic and cultural features, sites and structures at Moran State Park.

Read about television broadcasting by KVOS at the summit. In the 1940s Rogan Jones Sr. had a vision to broadcast television from the highest point in the San Juan Islands. KVOS was broadcasting television on channel 12 to northwest Washington State, but perhaps more importantly, across the Canadian border. At that time, there were no television stations in the largest west coast Canadian city of Vancouver. Now see and touch some old relics of broadcasting from an age before TV went digital.

We are currently developing several additional exhibits, featuring the bats, deer, and geology of Moran State Park. We would love your help doing this!

To learn more about this exciting endeavor, email us or call the SLC directly at (360) 376-3148. Cannot donate your time? A monetary contribution would help just as much! You may mail it to FOM, PO Box 1961, Eastsound, WA 98245. Or donate online, right now right here…
